Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– A South Carolina state auditor has submitted his resignation.
George Kennedy sent a letter to the Governor’s Office Thursday.
While his resignation letter did not specifically reference it, it comes as the state’s finances have come under scrutiny following a what was determined to be a $1.8 billion dollar accounting error.
Kennedy had served in the role of state auditor for nine years.
