CEDAR CITY, Utah (ABC4) — Three Southern Utah University students were arrested the day before Thanksgiving after allegedly stealing refrigerators from a loading dock on campus.
Brock Felder, 20, Hercy Miller, 24, and Peter Dadson Jr., 25, were each arrested on one count of theft, valued from $1,500 to $4,999. According to arrest documents filed in Iron County, the students stole two refrigerators worth $1,500 each.

Documents said the three students were captured on security footage loading the refrigerators from the loading dock of the campus bookstore into two vehicles on Nov. 11 before driving away. The students and their vehicles were identified using SUU directories, according to arrest documents.
One of the refrigerators was found inside an apartment where two suspects lived, and the refrigerator could be seen through the front door, according to documents. The other was located inside the garage of the third suspect’s home.
Police asked each of the suspects about the refrigerators, and one said the idea to take the refrigerators was another suspect’s. He told police that he had only helped load the refrigerators into the vehicles.
Another suspect told officers that they had seen the refrigerators sitting on the loading dock for “almost a month and assumed that they were being disposed of,” documents said. Another suspect also told officers he thought the refrigerators were being thrown out.
The suspects did not speak to anyone before taking the refrigerators, according to arrest documents.
On Nov. 22, 2024, police at SUU were informed that two refrigerators were taken from the loading dock of the bookstore on campus. The three students were arrested on Nov. 27, but were released from custody as of Nov. 28, according to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office.
Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
