MURRAY, Utah (ABC4) — A 22-year-old man has been arrested and is currently facing several charges, including murder, after one person died in a shooting last Thursday, Nov. 21.

Pirawn Yohan Mula is facing the following charges:
Murder, a first-degree felony
Possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a third-degree felony
Two counts of discharge of a firearm, a class B misdemeanor
Intoxication, a class C misdemeanor
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Thursday, Nov. 21 around 8 p.m., a call came into Murray Police about shots fired in the area of 4500 South and State Street, near an apartment complex.
Police say witnesses reported seeing the suspected shooter and two other males leaving the scene in a white SUV after shots were fired. Life-saving measures were attempted on the victim before he was pronounced deceased. Police are not releasing the name of the victim at this time but said he looked to be in his 20s.
Police canvassed the area for witnesses and police were able to identify Mula through the investigation. Witnesses told police Mula arrived at the scene and got into a physical altercation with the victim. Mula allegedly drew a handgun and shot the victim in the head. Mula shot the victim one more time before fleeing in the white SUV, according to the affidavit.
Police said that Mula was on probation at the time of his arrest and was reportedly intoxicated when the incident occurred.
Police arrested Mula around noon the following day and interviewed him about the incident before booking him into Salt Lake County Jail on the prior charges.
Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
